These new developed kind of golden colored knitting elements are standing out due to their structurized surface. Microscopically small inclusions make the difference between the „nanos“ and the highly polished and mirror finished knitting elements.
Shows the surface of a standard sinker by using a microscope: immaculate smoothness - no oil film stays permanently
In these “cup-shaped” cavities the oil will be retained, the constantly existing oil film is able to protect the whole surface. Scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute come to the conclusion that “significant differences in the adhesion factor and in the wear and tear behavior clearly appear.”
increasing adhesion gradient
The test shows the wear and tear which occurs at sinkers with smooth surfaces after a short period of 1.5 hours only.
decreasing adehsion gradient
The structured surface which applies on "nano" sinkers shows hardly respectively minor wear and tear.
From the left: The small as well as the greater counterpart shows a signifi cant abrasion after the test - the protective oil fi lm is not visible anymore.
From the left: The small as well as the greater counterpart shows much less abrasion after the test - the protective oil fi lm is still protecting
